The week after we got home from the Outer Banks was pretty rough. We had held off packing the house because we wanted to keep it as staged as possible for showings in the hopes that it would sell before we moved. It was a little bit overwhelming, realizing all of the things we needed to do when we got back from vacation. I am so grateful for all of the help that we got from family and friends! . Almost every day during the week, someone in the ward watched Carter for me so that I was able to spend time packing. Anastasia and Adrienne came over and helped me pack and clean my kitchen. Jeremy's parents were so nice to fly out and help us as well. We really couldn't have done it without them! Moving day was exhausting, emotionally and physically. A bunch of people from the ward came over to help us load up the truck and clean. Carter even pitched in
It was raining that morning, so our stairs got a little bit muddy as people brought down boxes. I was really stressed about this because our house was still on the market and I wanted to leave it ready to show. Anastasia volunteered to come back and clean our stairs. That is the mark of a true friend! We got the truck loaded in pretty good time, said some sad goodbyes, took one last picture in front of 115 Brookview Lane, and hit the road for Ithaca
When we got to our new apartment in Ithaca, a bunch of people from our ward were there waiting to help us unload our truck, it was awesome. We were able to get everything unloaded before dark. Another new MBA family in the apartment complex, the Strykers even brought us over a pizza that first night. As hard as it was to move, we felt really welcome and taken care of when we got to Ithaca.
Our apartment looked like this for a good while, but we were finally able to get settled in. We are so grateful for such wonderful family and friends!
