In March, it started to warm up
just a little bit. On the first day that it was sunny and above 30 degrees, we
all went outside, frolicked, and talked about how warm it was.
At the end of March, Jeremy had a week off
for spring break. We decided to rent a beach house in Cape May with our
friends, the Currans and the Strykers. It definitely wasn’t swimming weather,
but it was a heck of a lot better than Ithaca! We flew kites, built sandcastles, and just soaked up the sun on the beach.
One of the best kept secrets of Cape May is their little zoo. It is free to the public and they actually have some pretty awesome animals. They have a snow leopard, a lion, giraffes, otters, and a bunch more. . It was such a fun, relaxing day.
Later that same day, we did an Easter Egg hunt on the beach for the boys. They were all so excited, we had a hard time getting them to stand still to take a picture before we let them start.
Carter loved it. I say this all the time, but holidays really are so much more fun with kids! On our last day in Cape May, we went on a bike ride to the lighthouse. We rigged up the Strykers' bike trailer so Logan could come. I was in the back of the line, and it made me laugh seeing everyone up ahead of me, with a child attached to the back of each bike.
The bike ride was fun, but it was super windy that day, so that made it a little bit cold for the kiddos. Going on the bike ride made me remember back to our first trip to Cape May,when I was pregnant with Carter. We went on that same bike ride. So much has changed since then!
I've decided that renting houses is a pretty great way to vacation. Its usually cheaper than a hotel, it's fun cooking together, and you get to hang out at night after putting kids to bed. Here is a picture of the whole crew.
On our way back we were able to stop in Pottstown to visit our friends, the Meads, and spend Easter with them. It was really great to be able to catch up with them and eat Anastasia's yummy food. Happy Easter everyone!
